Askar Mamin discusses issues of restoring business activity with entrepreneurs from all regions of Kazakhstan

Prime Minister Askar Mamin held conference calls with business representatives from all regions of Kazakhstan on June 10-11, 2020, during which issues of restoring business activity were considered.

Entrepreneurs told the head of government about current business problems in the fields of agriculture, food industry, tourism, catering, trade, construction, education, manufacturing.

The business community’s proposals for subsidies, soft loans and restructuring of current loans, deferral of loan payments, leasing of agricultural machinery, tariffs, further increasing the participation of domestic producers in public and quasi-public sector procurement, revising the deadlines for fulfilling obligations under public procurement contracts and others were considered.

The Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs moderated the meetings. 229 businessmen were represented from all regions, over 40 people made presentations. The discussion was attended by the Chair of the Presidium of Atameken NCE Timur Kulibayev, heads of central government bodies, akims of regions and cities of republican significance, the leadership of JSC Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund, JSC Baiterek National Management Holding and industry business associations.

The head of government instructed the relevant ministries and akimats of the regions to consider urgent business problems and take measures to solve them, as well as submit systemic issues of entrepreneurship development to the State Commission for Restoring of Economic Growth.

“The task of the government is to create all the necessary conditions for restoring business activity. We need to make every effort to ensure that the business quickly returns to the pre-crisis level,” said Mamin.
