Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with the heads of companies-shareholders of the Kashagan Consortium with the participation of Managing Director of North Caspian Operating Company N.V. Olivier Lazar.
During the meeting they discussed topical issues of the Consortium's activities, implementation of new investment projects and compliance with environmental legislation of the republic.
Head of the Government emphasized the important role of Kashagan in providing the Republic of Kazakhstan with oil and gas resources. And it concerns not only production operations, but also complex processing of hydrocarbons. In this regard, in light of the instructions of the Head of State, voiced in the recent Address to the Nation, the need to accelerate the construction of new gas processing facilities was emphasized.
In addition, according to the Prime Minister, the key issues for the Consortium should be the issues of reaching full-scale development of the field, taking into account environmental safety.
"We appreciate the Consortium's contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry and are committed to further expansion of long-term cooperation," Alikhan Smailov said.
At the end of the meeting, the parties indicated their readiness to resolve all issues arising during the implementation of investment projects in a constructive manner in compliance with the rights and obligations established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by Managing Director of ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Cecil Rolin, General Director of CNPC Kazakhstan B.V. Xiangdong Zhu, senior Vice President and Head of Shell in Kazakhstan Herman Burmeister, General Director of TotalEnergies Kazakhstan Frude Younes, Managing Director of Agip Caspian Sea B.V.
