Olzhas Bektenov holds meeting of Commission on the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting of the Commission on the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State.

The results of the implementation of previous decisions were considered, as well as heard a report on the work carried out by the Company to manage the returned assets. Assets worth about 610 billion tenge were returned, of which 506 billion tenge is cash, as well as property worth more than 103 billion tenge. Funds were allocated from the Special State Fund for the implementation of 280 social facilities in the areas of education, health care, sports, social security, as well as for the modernisation of municipal infrastructure.      

As a result of the regular meeting, the Commission approved the conclusion of a number of agreements on voluntary return of illegally acquired assets to the state. About 150 billion tenge will be additionally allocated to the Special State Fund. Along with this, the subjects of the law On the return of illegally acquired assets to the state committed to invest $10.5 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan.

In addition, the Commission supported the introduction of lawsuits in court against persons subject to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan On Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State on the return of assets totalling more than 84 billion tenge to the state.
