Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov familiarised himself with the development of metallurgy, light and construction industry, automotive and railway engineering industries on the example of Astana city enterprises. Checked the implementation of the President's instructions, voiced in the Address "Fair Kazakhstan: law and order, economic growth, social optimism", to diversify the economy and the implementation of investment projects in priority areas.
On the territory of Industrial Park Prime Minister was reported on socio-economic development of Astana. Deputy Mayor of the city Yevgeny Glotov said that following the results of the first half of the year, the volume of GRP of Astana reached 5.5 trillion tenge, exceeding last year's figure for the same period by 7%. In the structure of gross regional product share of small and medium-sized businesses occupies 72%. For 10 months of the current year in Astana attracted about 1.3 trillion tenge of investments, while the volume of industrial production increased by almost 7% compared to 2023.
Head of the Government inspected the production workshops of the Digital System Service LLP plant, located on an area of 7.5 thousand square metres. Production of telecommunication equipment, including modems, switches, routers, telephone sets and stations for home, office and industrial use has been established. The plant carries out a full production cycle - from software development to assembly and packaging of finished products. Prime Minister was informed that after the modernisation the capacity of the enterprise has increased up to 720 thousand units per year with the possibility of increasing the volume up to 805 thousand devices. The total amount of investments in the development of the plant since its foundation in 2005 amounted to about $4.5 million. Today the production provides permanent employment for 100 employees.
Olzhas Bektenov emphasised the importance of such production facilities for reducing dependence on imports and creating conditions for increasing exports of high-tech products.
Currently, the product line of Digital System Service is widely represented in the market of Kazakhstan. The company's development plans include entering foreign markets, including Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Arab countries.
On the example of investment project of the American company Wabtec Olzhas Bektenov got acquainted with the development of railway engineering. The enterprise for assembly of mainline diesel locomotives "Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty" produces up to 120 units per year. A total of 611 locomotives have been assembled since the launch of production. President of the company Marat Tleubaev reported to the head of the Government that the plant has mastered all key parts of the assembly, the level of localisation today reaches 75%. The total amount of investment in the project is 30 billion tenge. 742 jobs have been created at the plant.
Prime Minister noted positive trends of investment growth in the development of railway engineering, creation of new production and service facilities. Implementation of such projects contributes to the establishment of Kazakhstan as a transport and logistics hub, according to the task set by the Head of State.
Olzhas Bektenov familiarised himself with the development of light industry on the example of the Ashina KZ LLP garment factory. The annual capacity of the enterprise is 24 thousand units of production. The cost of the project is 1.4 billion tenge, 60 jobs have been created.
Also during his working trip Olzhas Bektenov visited the refinery Tau-Ken Altyn LLP. The enterprise is engaged in purification of gold and other precious metals from impurities, ensuring their high quality. The plant operates according to advanced refining technologies that have no analogues in the CIS, which allows it to produce products that meet international standards. Since the launch of the enterprise 336.7 tonnes of refined gold and 64.2 tonnes of silver have been produced, the annual capacity reaches 25 tonnes of gold and 50 tonnes of silver.
Director of Tau-Ken Altyn LLP Ainur Aidarkhanov said that the plant is actively implementing ESG-principles, reducing energy consumption, water and heat consumption, as well as developing the processing of catalysts and waste, which will expand the raw material base and strengthen its position in the market.
Prime Minister emphasised that the plant's activity contributes to strengthening Kazakhstan's position in the world market of precious metals. In general, such production projects play a key role in the implementation of the strategy to diversify the country's economy.
