Most regions of Kazakhstan in green zone for incidence of COVID-19

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy reported on the current situation and the progress of vaccination of the population.

The sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan continues to improve. In terms of the rate of spread of COVID-19, the country is in the green zone. The virus reproductive index is 0.9, the occupancy of infectious beds is 23%, intensive care — 21%.

One region is in the red zone — Nur-Sultan, three region are in the yellow zone — Atyrau, West Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions. The remaining 13 regions are in the green zone.

To date, more than 2.5 million people have been vaccinated with the first component, over 1.4 million people — with the second component.

The Head of Government instructed the Ministry of Healthcare and akimats to keep the sanitary and epidemiological situation under control, and the akimat of Nur-Sultan to pay special attention to the observance of sanitary and epidemiological measures and vaccination of the population.

“The mask mode is preserved, especially indoors. Monitoring groups to intensify their work. As you know, our neighbors in the region are experiencing an increase in the incidence of diseases, so it is necessary to take additional preventive measures. First of all, this is the expansion of vaccination coverage. It is necessary to increase the daily volume of vaccinations,” Mamin said.

The Prime Minister instructed to continue the implementation of the Ashyq application, strengthen advocacy and develop effective mechanisms to stimulate the population to vaccination.
