Export potential of harvest in Kazakhstan to reach 7.5-8 million tons of grain in 2020

The progress of harvesting in 2020 was considered at a selector government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin.

The reports were made by Minister of Agriculture Saparkhan Omarov, akims of Akmola region Yermek Marzhikpayev, Kostanay region — Archimed Mukhambetov, North Kazakhstan region — Kumar Aksakalov, as well as representatives of agribusiness of these regions — leaders of Logos Grain LLP A. Kudaibergenov, Agrofirm Kargyn — E. Bukanov, Biooperations — A. Talgatbek.

To date, over 93% of harvesting operations have been completed in the country. The volume of the harvest is planned at the level of 18 million tons of grain. The yield is 12.3 kg / ha. The export potential of the new crop is about 7.5-8 million tons.

“The trend in the world shows that in the world market the demand and prices for food will only increase. Therefore, our priority task is to significantly increase the production and export of grain processing products,” Mamin said.

The head of government instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to create a roadmap for the development of the grain and leguminous crops processing industry, as well as increasing the export potential.

Akimats and the Ministry of Agriculture were instructed to complete the harvest as soon as possible and ensure the safety of the crop, establish the purchase price for grain and inform market participants, and ensure the return of funds within the framework of the forward purchase mechanism.

The Ministry of Industry, together with JSC NC KTZh, was instructed to take measures to provide rolling stock for uninterrupted grain transportation.
