In the city of Boao, Hainan Province, on the sidelines of the 25th Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia, a meeting was held between First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji.

Roman Sklyar congratulated the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on the successful holding of the “Two Sessions” and the adoption of China’s Social and Economic Development Plan for 2026–2030.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that on 15 March, within the framework of the nationwide referendum, the citizens of the country adopted a new Constitution. He emphasized that this is an important step for the further development of Kazakhstan.

In addition, Roman Sklyar highlighted the productive cooperation between the two countries in the field of interparliamentary relations, as well as the dynamic development of trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the fields of investment, transport and energy.

In turn, Zhao Leji emphasized that the Chinese side attaches great importance to the high-trust relations of the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership with Kazakhstan.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress expressed support for the reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan, initiated by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, aimed at further prosperity of the country.

Both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation within multilateral formats such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, and the “Central Asia – China” format.
