Within the framework of the Head of State's initiative on The Year of Vocational Professions and the plan approved by the Government, Karaganda Region is actively developing working specialities. With the opening of new production facilities, more than 17 thousand additional jobs will be created. Such data was voiced at the Government session by Yermaganbet Bulekpaev, akim of Karaganda region.

According to him, the reform of labour training has been launched. Major enterprises of the region are involved in the work. 52 colleges train personnel in 128 specialities, clustering of educational institutions in eight leading areas has been launched since last year. Support colleges have been approved for each of them, on the basis of which two modern competence centres and 10 workshops will be opened.

An important part of the reform is the introduction of dual training, and active co-operation with 300 large enterprises, such as Qarmet, Kazakhmys, QazTehna, KamaTyresKZ, Silk Road Electronics. They are directly involved in training the specialists they need, guaranteeing maximum employment of graduates.

The next direction is the opening of necessary specialities in demand due to changes in the labour market in the region. For example, last year the college in Sarani opened specialities in rubber and tyre production. This autumn they will be accepting students for specialities in polymer production, real estate management, gas supply, hydrotechnical construction and hydrotechnical land reclamation.

"We expect that there will be more college enrolments in the future. That is why we have already increased the number of grants by 20%. Last year about 8.5 thousand graduates graduated from colleges, this year we have increased the state order for working specialities by 1.1 thousand places," Akim of the region reported.

It should be noted that the region will train new professions for persons with disabilities in special resource training centres on the basis of colleges. Adults who decided to change their profile for various reasons are provided with conditions for obtaining a new speciality.
