Topical issues of development of the mining and metallurgical complex were discussed at the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.

In particular, plans to introduce international standards in geological exploration, as well as measures to improve the efficiency of deposit development and attracting investment to the industry were considered.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to balance the interests of the state and business in the implementation of new initiatives and projects in the mining industry. 

Following the results of the meeting a number of relevant instructions were given to the authorized state bodies.
