At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the progress of preparations for the heating season was reviewed. Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov reported on the status of these preparations.

According to the ministry, the heating season started on September 14 in the Pavlodar Region. By the end of this week, heat is scheduled to be supplied to the North Kazakhstan and Akmola Regions. In the remaining northern and eastern regions, it is expected to begin before October 1.

Overall, repair work across all regions has been fully completed in the Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, and Pavlodar Regions. Energy sources have the necessary fuel reserves and equipment set ready to launch the heating season.

However, preparatory work has not yet been finished in the cities of Semey, Stepnogorsk, and Petropavlovsk.

“As noted in the minister’s presentation, work in several regions has not yet been completed. The akims (governors) of these regions must take personal control over the completion of repair work. Special attention should be given to launching heat in the cities of Semey, Stepnogorsk, and Petropavl,” Olzhas Bektenov noted.

Control and coordination regarding the heating season have been assigned to First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlybek Nalibayev.
