During his working trip to Mangystau region Kanat Bozumbayev visited a number of significant engineering and infrastructure facilities of Aktau city.

Deputy Prime Minister got acquainted with the construction progress of the second stage of KOS-2, which will increase the capacity of the complex from 30 thousand to 70 thousand cubic meters per day. The facility will be put into operation in 2025.

Then Kanat Bozumbayev checked the reconstruction of the main heat networks of the city: from 2024 to 2026 Akimat plans to gradually replace 44 km of main heat pipeline out of 47.

Deputy Prime Minister also visited desalination plant "Caspiy", which provides water to consumers of Munaila, Karakiyan, Tupkaragan districts. Works are underway to increase the capacity of drinking water from 20 thousand to 40 thousand cubic meters per day. Pre-commissioning works will be completed by September this year.

Further, Deputy Prime Minister visited KazAzot Company, where the construction project of a new ammonia and urea complex KazAzot Prime was presented. The plant will produce nitrogen fertilizers for agriculture and create 700 permanent jobs.

In order to reduce the water deficit in the region, the construction of desalination plants with a capacity of 24 thousand cubic meters per day is planned on the territory of the MAEK enterprise.

Following the visit, Kanat Bozumbayev held a meeting to discuss urgent measures on socio-economic development of Mangystau region. Vice-ministers of national economy, energy, construction and industry, ecology and natural resources reported on the work done.

A total of 118 institutional measures are planned for Mangystau region for 2024-2027, covering all spheres of life support. These are diversification of the economy, development of food industry, 100% provision of drinking water to the population, reducing the wear and tear of heating networks, improving the coverage and quality of the Internet.

The Deputy Prime Minister dwelt separately on the environmental problems of the region. He instructed to accelerate the reclamation of disturbed lands of the spontaneous landfill in Zhanaozen, as well as to complete the reclamation of the tailing dump "KoshkarAta".

In addition, Kanat Bozumbayev pointed out the poor quality of roads in the districts and gave relevant instructions to the relevant ministry.

Special attention was paid to the social sphere: acquisition of rental housing for socially vulnerable segments of the population of the region, construction of an 18-apartment house in Zhanaozen, construction of a college for 600 places with a hostel for 200 places in Beineu district.

"A very important issue is overdue in the field of education. This year the construction of 13 schools will be completed, next year 8 more will be delivered. Personnel are needed. There is a deficit of teachers and doctors in the region. Training of specialists necessary for the region is a strategic issue. I instruct to conduct a thorough analysis and work in this direction with universities. We need to support local talented youth and children, increase quotas for training in such schools as NISH, RFMSH, Daryn and Bilim-Innovation Lyceum. Kazmunaigas is ready to send more than 1 thousand talented children to the leading schools of the country for training. And the issue of attracting doctors to the region should be solved by providing housing," Kanat Bozumbayev said.

Deputy Prime Minister gave a week term for making additions to the plan of urgent measures of socio-economic development taking into account his visit to Mangystau region.
