Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev held a meeting with Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov on the elimination of consequences of floods.

The meeting was also attended by business representatives: General Director of Verny Capital LLP Aidan Akanov and management of Integra Construction LLP Andrey Kim and Kudrat Shamiyev. These companies, together with other sponsors, will assist in the reconstruction of the region. 

A total of 1,817 houses were flooded in Akmola region, of which 359 were recognised as emergency, while the remaining houses are to be repaired.   

"The region needs 10.5 billion tenge to repair and build houses. Of this, Kaspi Bank is providing 5 billion tenge and RG Gold is providing 1 billion tenge. About 4 billion tenge we will have to find in the coming days. The task before the Akimat is set: by 15 August, all flood-affected residents of Akmola region should enter the repaired and newly built or purchased houses. There is a schedule, contractors have been identified and all the appropriate amounts will be allocated," Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said.

To ensure the safety of the population and its resettlement from flooded areas, it is planned to build two 45-apartment flat blocks in the town of Atbasar, Atbasar District. Also 87 private houses will be built in Bulandyn and Zharkain districts.  

"We will buy out ready-made flats and houses in the regions where the emergency regime has been declared: in Kokshetau - 89, in Zharkainsky district - 27, in Yesilsky district - 22, in Astrakhan district - 34 and Zhaksynsky district - 10 houses. In total, it is planned to buy out 182 houses in the safe zone," Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov said.

In addition, local authorities will have to reconstruct road and engineering infrastructure in the region. For these purposes, funds will be allocated from the reserve of the Government. On the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister, the reconstruction of roads, bridges and power grids should be completed as early as July this year.
