According to the Minister, from the beginning of preparation for the heating season, from May 1 to August 15, railway transport transport transported 17 million tonnes of coal, of which 1 million tonnes - for the municipal sector, 16 million tonnes - for energy enterprises. On average, the total demand for coal transportation within the country reaches more than 70 million tonnes. The fulfilment as of 15 August is 25% of the total volume. The average monthly loading is 5.5 million tonnes.
Stocks in the warehouses of energy enterprises today amount to 3.7 million tonnes.
"Special attention is paid to supplying the communal and household sector. For 3 months the fulfilment of transportations was 108% of the plan - 8% higher than the plan. More than 20 thousand gondola cars were used, including 11 thousand for the transport of municipal coal and 9 thousand for the energy sector," Karabayev reported.
The possibility of attracting the fleet of private operators of wagons up to 3 thousand units was noted. There is also a sufficient fleet of traction resources. The total number of locomotives of the national operator was 1 thousand 807 units.
In order to maintain the operability of the fleet, the work on its renewal is underway: 185 locomotives have been purchased this year. According to the Minister, the involved fleet fully ensures the transportation of the declared volumes.
"In order to ensure timely shipment of coal, appropriate measures are taken jointly with state authorities and organisations. Thus, to reduce the load in the peak period, which is November-December, together with akimats, work is carried out to build up coal reserves in the summer period. A system of transport routing has been developed, which ensures high speed of coal delivery - up to 700 km/day. In addition, there is a permanent headquarters for operational regulation of delivery issues," the Minister of Transport said.
According to him, to ensure the safety of train traffic during coal deliveries, repair works have been carried out on the tracks that go to the main coal loading stations. In particular, to such as Kyzylzhar, Degelen, Ushkulyn, Nura and Ekibastuz with a total length of 102 kilometres.
