Kazakhstan to provide humanitarian aid to Pakistan

On the instructions of the Head of State, the Government of Kazakhstan will provide humanitarian assistance to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the amount of $400 thousand to eliminate the consequences of heavy rains and floods, which led to numerous human casualties.

This issue was discussed at the meeting of the Commission on Humanitarian Aid chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar.

According to the official data, 1033 people, including 343 children, have already died as a result of the natural disasters in Pakistan. About 35 million people were left without shelter and food.

On Aug. 27, Prime Minister of Pakistan Sharif appealed to the international community for help.

On Aug. 28, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences to the President of Pakistan on the loss of life during the floods.
