Kazakhstan expands investment cooperation with leading Qatari companies

A working visit of the Kazakh delegation headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov to the State of Qatar took place.

During the visit, meetings were held with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of Municipality and Environment Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammed bin Towar Al Kuwari, Head of Qatar Airways Akbar Al-Baker and heads of national companies Qatar Investment Authority and Hassad Food.

The Kazakh-Qatar Business Council was held with the participation of the business circles of the two countries, where the priority areas of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Qatar were discussed.

First Deputy Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov noted that there is great potential for the development of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres, stressing the importance of active involvement of the private sector in deepening and expanding interstate relations between Kazakhstan and Qatar.

During the event, the heads of several national companies and large enterprises of Kazakhstan presented to the attention of Qatari business the economic opportunities created in our country for foreign investors.

The Kazakh delegation included the heads of Samruk-Kazyna SWF JSC, KAZAKH INVEST JS NC, Kazakh Tourism JS NC, Baiterek NMH JSC, vice ministers of foreign affairs, agriculture, national economy, culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the management of BI Group, Agro Holding Dinara Group, Target AI, Evotech CA, etc.
