E-commerce market infrastructure being actively developed in Kazakhstan

Chairman of the Board of Kazpost JSC Assel Zhanasova noted at the Government session that to ensure the growth of e-commerce in the country is developing a network of modern warehouse complexes.

She emphasised that the rapid growth of e-commerce opens a unique window of opportunity for Kazakhstan. It is not just growth figures - it is the development of entrepreneurship in the regions and strengthening the position of Kazakhstan as a logistics hub of Central Asia. And here Kazpost's key role is to provide reliable infrastructure for the e-commerce market.

According to forecasts, by 2029 the number of parcels per person will reach the level of developed countries - 27 parcels per year. This will facilitate the growth of both local players and cross-border trade, with the share of international marketplaces reaching 19%. Kazpost is already acting as an infrastructure platform, co-operating with both local and international players, providing access to e-commerce across the country.

"The company has created a comprehensive ecosystem of logistics services. More than 10,000 SMEs and key marketplaces trust us with a full cycle of services: from full-field to last mile, from express delivery to financial services. This allows our partners to focus on business development while we provide reliable delivery infrastructure," Assel Zhanasova emphasised.

She also added that digital services are being created in the country, which give Kazakhstanis access to global e-commerce goods. In particular, QAZPOST KERUEN provides direct access to the leading marketplaces of the USA, China, Germany and South Korea. QAZPOST KEDEN simplifies customs clearance, and postal services provide convenient delivery throughout the country.

Also, to ensure the growth of e-commerce, a network of modern warehouse complexes is being developed. Together with international partners it is planned to build multimodal warehouses in Almaty, Aktobe, Aktobe, Almaty and Turkestan regions with the total area of more than 85 thousand square metres. The total amount of investments is about $100 million. This will strengthen the logistics infrastructure for both domestic and cross-border markets.

For the convenience of customers, a network of Homepost delivery points is being developed. This allows orders to be received close to home, at a convenient time, without waiting for a courier.

"At the same time, we are involving small businesses in e-commerce - entrepreneurs can open a point under the Homepost brand. From the current 180 outlets, we will expand the network to a thousand by mid-2025, making receiving both local and international parcels as convenient as possible for customers. Our goal is to become a single integrated operator for the e-commerce marketplace. For businesses, we are creating an ecosystem to manage shipping, warehouses, customs clearance and financing through a single app. For shoppers - a convenient infrastructure for receiving orders and making payments. This integrated solution will accelerate the development of e-commerce in Kazakhstan," Assel Zhanasova concluded.
