Today Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov took part in Global Pharm, first International Forum on the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.
The event was attended by representatives of the ALE Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the largest foreign and domestic companies that develop and produce pharmaceuticals, as well as representatives of the international analytical agency IQVIA.
Opening the Forum, Tugzhanov noted that the order of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the development of the pharmaceutical industry is an important task that requires an urgent and effective solution.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that last year the volume of the Kazakh pharmaceutical market grew by 22% and amounted to $1.5 billion. At the same time, foreign companies Polfarma (Poland), Pharmstandard (Russia), Abdi Ibrahim (Turkey), Favea (Czech Republic) and others are already launching their own production and introducing modern technologies.
Kunsulu Zakarya, General Director of the Scientific Research Institute for Biological Safety Problems, where the first Kazakhstani vaccine against COVID-19, QazVac, was developed, also spoke at the forum. She shared plans for the development of new Kazakhstani drugs with the forum participants.
Also within the framework of the Forum, Tugzhanov held meetings with the heads of pharmaceutical companies: Johnson & Johnson LLC, Merck KGaA, AbbVi Biopharmaceuticals, Sanofi-Aventis Group, ROSH Kazakhstan LLP, Novo Nordisk Kazakhstan LLP, ALE Association international pharmaceutical manufacturers in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as domestic producers.
As a result of the meetings, the parties expressed interest in mutual cooperation, expansion of investment cooperation and localization of production through the transfer of technologies in the pharmaceutical industry of Kazakhstan.
