Measures for the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex were presented today at a Government session, the main topic of which was the progress of the harvesting campaign.
At the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, it was noted that space monitoring is an important tool for managing land resources. According to the presented data, work has been carried out since 2018 in three areas: crop production, pastures, and land use. As an example, figures for 2024 were given, according to which about 2 million hectares of unused or partially used arable land were identified. The “JerInSpectr” information system was also mentioned, covering 117 million hectares of agricultural land to detect violations.
As part of the digital transformation of crop production, a reengineering of the business processes of grain-receiving enterprises was carried out, which revealed significant administrative barriers due to manual data entry and paper document flow. The ministry stated that the proposed digitization of processes would reduce the number of steps by 71% and decrease the administrative burden by 65%, ensuring transparency of operations in the grain market.
Special attention was paid to the introduction of blockchain technologies. The ministry announced the launch of a pilot project in the Kostanay region on grain tokenization, which will turn it into a full-fledged financial instrument for trade and obtaining loans. If successful, the project is planned to be scaled nationwide.
In addition, the agency reported on plans to introduce AI agents for automating processes in the agro-industrial complex. In particular, a chatbot concept was presented that will consult farmers on issues of government support, subsidies, and necessary documents based on official data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
In conclusion, the ministry emphasized that for the further development of agriculture, it is necessary to widely apply robotic equipment, the Internet of Things (IoT), AI, and Big Data. According to ministry representatives, comprehensive digitalization will help increase the efficiency of land use and ease the work of farmers.
