Prime Minister Askar Mamin participates in opening of modular construction plant in Nur-Sultan

Askar Mamin took part in the official opening of the automated conveyor line of the ModeX modular construction plant in Nur-Sultan.

The enterprise has introduced innovative technologies of large-block housing construction used in the USA, Singapore and Germany, which will shorten the construction time, improve its quality and reduce the cost of housing.

Modular blocks can be used in the construction of residential complexes, cottages, social infrastructure facilities, including educational institutions, trade pavilions, office premises, etc.

Large-block housing construction does not depend on climatic conditions, since up to 90% of work — from tying reinforcement to molding modules in fine finishing — occurs at the enterprise, which significantly speeds up all processes. For example, in the future, it will take only four months to build a 16-storey residential building.

The main material for the production of modules is expanded clay concrete. The reinforced concrete products of the enterprise have successfully passed tests of KazNIISA JSC for high strength and durability. Thanks to multi-stage operational control and a high degree of automation, high product quality is achieved.

The design capacity of the modular construction plant, a subsidiary of the BI Group construction holding, will be 200 thousand square meters of housing per year. Until 2023, it is planned to build three stages with a total design capacity of 500 thousand sq. m. of housing. The plant will create over 1,000 jobs. In the future, it is planned to open factories for large-block housing construction in Almaty and Shymkent.

“Large-block housing construction will give an impetus to the development of the construction industry in Kazakhstan and will contribute to solving problems of expanding the volume of construction of the country's housing and social infrastructure,” Mamin said.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, Akim of Nur-Sultan Altay Kulginov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov.
