Modernization of social and engineering infrastructure of Shymkent discussed by Government

The measures to implement the instructions given by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov during his working visit to Shymkent on Jan. 27 were considered at a meeting in the Government. 

The participants discussed the construction of water supply facilities in Sairam settlement, the main "Turan" sewage collector along the Almaty highway, and modernization of the transport infrastructure of the city. Thus, only this year the repair work is planned to cover more than 11 km of roads.

In terms of engineering infrastructure renovation in 2023 will begin reconstruction of the most worn sections of heating networks with length of 9 km. In addition, the akimat plans to reconstruct the boiler house in Sport Microdistrict and construct a new pumping station.

In the next two years measures will also be taken for the construction of a number of multi-storey residential buildings, including in the microdistricts of Bozaryk (1,640 apartments) and Akzhaiyk (780 apartments). At the same time, the sale of housing at a preferential rate through Otbas Bank will go on, with over 1,000 apartments by the end of the year. 

The meeting also considered the issues of gas supply to the housing estate "Kaynarbulaq", providing infrastructure for the industrial zones "Zhuldyz", "Bozaryk" and "Tassay", creating facilities for deep processing of oil raw materials around the refinery, expanding the trade and logistics center as part of establishing a southern regional hub and improving the mechanism for granting land to industrial companies for the implementation of investment and other projects.

Having heard the speakers' reports, the Prime Minister pointed out the importance of quality and timely implementation of the outlined plans for further social and economic development of Shymkent.
