Nursultan Nazarbayev visits several objects in Turkistan region

As part of his visit to the Turkistan region, Nursultan Nazarbayev got acquainted with construction projects of the Park of the First President and an amusement park. Elbasy also got acquainted with the plans for the creation of a linear park and the reconstruction of the city Arbat. In addition, the First President of Kazakhstan was informed about the project of the archaeological park “Kultobe Settlement.”

In the course of the visit, Elbasy attended a concert on the square of the spiritual and cultural center of the city and greeted the residents of Turkistan region. In his welcoming address, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the historical significance of his decision to transfer the regional center to Turkistan.

“Since independence, I have been thinking of Turkistan as a capital. But, as you know, the situation did not allow this. And now this city has become a regional center, where work is underway to revive it. Turkistan is the cradle of the Turkic world. And I’m sure that the fraternal Turkic states will also assist us,” said Elbasy.

The First President of Kazakhstan noted the high pace of a grandiose construction project deployed throughout the city.

“At the first stage, the construction of 175 facilities is planned. Of these, 102 will be opened this year. All regions of the country are taking part in this process,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Elbasy thanked all who participated in the construction and reconstruction of the regional center.

“Upon completion of the construction of all planned facilities, we expect an increase in touristm. In addition, more jobs will be created. All this will favorably affect the living standards of our citizens,” the First President of Kazakhstan concluded.

At the end of the concert, Nursultan Nazarbayev examined an exhibition of artisans, where the works of masters from 20 countries of the world were presented.

During a visit to Turkistan, Elbasy got acquainted with the work of the new Wedding Palace, where the wedding ceremony of young couples was held. The first President of Kazakhstan congratulated the newlyweds, wishing them happiness and family well-being.

During a visit to the Public Service Center, the First President of Kazakhstan got acquainted with the automated process of providing public services. Nursultan Nazarbayev was also informed about the measures being taken to ensure comfortable and high-quality conditions for the provision of public services on a “one-stop-shop” principle.

Elbasy attended a new music school. Nursultan Nazarbayev was informed about measures being taken to develop the sphere of culture and art in the region. During the visit, children's creative groups demonstrated to the First President of Kazakhstan several indicative musical performances.

During a visit to the building of the new media center “Alatau Media Ortalygy,” Elbasy examined the workrooms for representatives of regional media. The First President of Kazakhstan noted the high pace of construction of new facilities in the city.

“Shymkent has become a millionaire city. In this regard, we formed a separate Turkistan region. I have been thinking about this for a long time. And so we began a grandiose construction. All this reminds me of the construction of our capital. Soon we will find another beautiful city in the south of the country. All this is done for the benefit of people,” Nursultan Nazarbayev told representatives of the regional media.

The First President of Kazakhstan got acquainted with the construction of the administrative and business center. Elbasy visited the new building of the akimat of the Turkistan region, where he was presented with the intermediate results of the reconstruction of the spiritual and cultural center of the city of Turkistan.

In addition, during the visit, Nursultan Nazarbayev was informed about the work of the public reception party Nur Otan, and also got acquainted with projects in the field of developing the tourism industry, ensuring water and food security. The First President of Kazakhstan presented models of the future international airport of Turkistan and a multidisciplinary hospital with 600 beds. During the presentation, Nursultan Nazarbayev was also informed about the results of the implementation of infrastructure projects in the regional center.

Nazarbayev also took part in a briefing for representatives of domestic and foreign mass media following a visit to Turkistan.

Speaking to reporters, Elbasy noted the scale of the unfolding construction project in Turkistan.

“Last year, having signed a decree on the transfer of the regional center, we started a large-scale construction project. Today I got acquainted with grandiose objects. Many new structures are being built, jobs are being created for young people. Hospitals, schools, hotels, an international airport will be built. It is planned to resolve issues in the field of water resources,” said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

In addition, the First President of Kazakhstan spoke about the plans of the Akimat for the implementation of infrastructure projects.

“A lot of work has been done over the year. Next year we plan to invite the heads of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan to the summit. If they confirm participation, then maybe we will spend it here in Turkistan. All Kazakhstan supports the development of the city. Every house, every city is the wealth of Kazakhstan. When we built the capital, there were questions regarding financing. And now, the city of Nur-Sultan, having recovered all the costs, annually brings trillions of revenue to the budget,” said Elbasy.

At the same time, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the importance of developing the tourism potential of Turkestan and the entire region.

“We should attract more tourists here. The whole Turkic world considers Turkestan a center. Tourism is an important part of the economy. There are already many museums. Now work is underway on the creation of the archaeological park ‘Kultobe Settlement,” concluded the First President of Kazakhstan.
