Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov attended a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty in a narrow format. Discussed topical issues of cooperation of countries within the EAEU.
The Government session of the EMPS in a narrow format attended by the Heads of Governments of the member countries of the Union: the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kassymaliyev, the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin; Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan, Chairman of the Board of the EEC Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
Olzhas Bektenov noted the importance of international dialogue on the platform of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and expressed confidence that the adopted decisions would give a new impetus to the development of integration processes.
In turn, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the EICC Roman Golovchenko stressed that the EAEU countries are linked by close economic relations and large-scale trade turnover.
According to the data of the presiding party, today the GDP of the Union demonstrates steady growth. By the end of 2024, the key indicator of the Union's economic performance will be about 4%. At the same time, the parties noted the need for joint efforts to come closer to the common vision of the Union, reflected in the declaration on further development of economic processes within the EAEU until 2030, including taking into account the latest trends in the development of the global economy, the emergence of new technologies and innovations.
The mechanism of support for the implementation of joint projects in the agro-industrial complex aimed at improving the sustainability of production and ensuring innovative development of the industry was discussed. Particular attention was paid to such areas as the development of breeding, seed production of agricultural plants, livestock breeding, processing of agricultural products, expansion of agro-industrial complex infrastructure.
There was also an exchange of views on the prospects for the development of the integrated information system of the EAEU. The need to intensify work in this area was noted.
