Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a working meeting with the leadership of the ministries of the economic block on the implementation of instructions of the Head of State in terms of ensuring sustainable growth and diversification of the economy. The report of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin on the ongoing work and the results of socio-economic development of the country for January-February this year was heard.
GDP growth for the reporting period made 5.4%. Improvement of dynamics is observed in the production of goods and in the services sector. The ongoing work on unlocking the industrial potential allowed to increase industrial production by 5.7 per cent.
In the manufacturing industry, the indicator was 8.9 per cent. Among the key sectors are machine building (18.2 %), food production (13.1 %), construction materials (21.6 %) and metal products (20.1 %), chemical industry (9 %). The mining industry showed growth rates of 4.1 per cent.
High rates remain in construction, where the volume of work amounted to 408.1 billion tenge, IFO was 112.8%. In trade, the growth dynamics was 6%, transport and warehousing services grew by 21.3%. In general, there was a high contribution of wholesale trade enterprises selling grain, seeds and animal feed (5.8 times growth), pharmaceutical goods (by 44.6%), cars and light motor vehicles (by 38.8%). Grain shipments increased by 43%, reaching 2.4 million tonnes. The transport of milled products increased by 12%.
In addition, the results of the system of support of industries for the production of deep processing products were noted. Thus, exports of products with high added value, in particular, mixed fodder, increased 5 times to 273 thousand tonnes (56 thousand tonnes in 2024), exports of vegetable oil increased by 28% to 94 thousand tonnes.
Head of the Government instructed not to reduce growth rates and identified a number of areas where it is necessary to strengthen work to achieve the planned indicators.
