Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministries of Transport and Finance, the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, the national company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,” and the Border Service of the National Security Committee to discuss the implementation of the President’s instructions given during the Security Council meeting.

In response to the President’s criticism, the meeting focused on shortening the timelines for the implementation of key infrastructure projects. Particular attention was paid to the quality and timely execution of agreements with neighboring countries regarding the modernization of border checkpoints located on Kazakhstan’s territory.

To ensure the domestic market has access to aviation fuel at affordable prices, a decision was made to accelerate the modernization of Kazakhstan’s oil refineries.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the outcomes of efforts to organize and improve the efficiency of “green corridors” must be tangible for both citizens and businesses. Relevant authorities were instructed to implement a mechanism for customs-free inspection of transit cargo. Work is also underway to establish external Kazakhstani terminals.

In light of the President’s directives and the recent increase in freight volumes via rail (20.5%) and pipeline transport (19.5%), the Ministries of Transport and Finance, in cooperation with relevant organizations, were tasked with ensuring funding for priority projects affecting trade and transit flows within one week.

First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar was instructed to prepare a detailed action plan for fulfilling the President’s directives within two days and to conduct field visits to the regions to oversee local implementation.
