Olzhas Bektenov holds Samruk-Kazyna Board of Directors meeting: contracts for 1.4 trillion tenge be signed with Kazakhstani commodity producers

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting of the Board of Directors of National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC. The report of the Chairman of the Board of the Fund Nurlan Zhakupov on production and financial performance was heard.

The progress of fulfilment of the instructions of the Head of State on the implementation of priority infrastructure projects was considered. The Fund's management reported on 46 major investment projects in priority sectors of the economy totalling about 36.4 trillion tenge. To date, construction and installation work has started on the projects Polyethylene Production, sulphuric acid plant and railway line Moyinty - Kyzylzhar, gas processing plant in the city of Zhanaozen, as well as on the substations Shu, Zhambyl, Shymkent within the framework of strengthening the electrical network of the Southern Zone of UES of Kazakhstan.

According to Nurlan Zhakupov, by the end of 2025 it is planned to complete such infrastructure facilities as the railway line Dostyk - Moyinty, bypass railway line bypassing the city of Almaty, container hub on the basis of the port in the city of Aktau, the main gas pipeline Taldykorgan - Usharal, desalination plant in Kenderli, as well as projects to expand the plant CASPI BITUM and reconstruction of diesel hydrotreatment unit at the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant In total, within the framework of these support measures, the number of concluded contracts with Kazakh manufacturers is planned to increase from 1.1 trillion tenge in 2024 to 1.4 trillion tenge in 2025.

In addition, under the Import Substitution Programme last year Samruk-Kazyna signed off-take contracts with Kazakhstani entrepreneurs for 191 billion tenge - a 10-fold increase. One of the business support measures is the electronic shop skstore. kz. More than 13,000 SMEs and 500 domestic manufacturers are registered on the platform. At the end of 2024, the number of orders totalled 25 thousand for the amount of 14.6 billion tenge, a 7-fold increase compared to 2023.

The Prime Minister instructed the management of Samruk-Kazyna and relevant ministries to ensure timely implementation of projects due to their multiplier effect on infrastructure, energy, transport logistics, industrial and economic development of Kazakhstan.
