State Awards Presented to Transport Industry Workers on the Instructions of the President

On the eve of Transport Workers’ Day, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, on behalf of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, congratulated the specialists and veterans of the sector on their professional holiday and presented state awards.

In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the key role of the transport and logistics sector in the development of the national economy.

“Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev has tasked us with increasing the potential of the transport sector and developing Kazakhstan as a reliable transit hub. In this context, the hard work of industry specialists, who ensure the safe and uninterrupted transportation of passengers and cargo, is extremely important. In the first six months of the current year, the domestic transport sector demonstrated dynamic growth of 22.7%. This is the result of the dedicated and conscientious work of specialists and industry veterans like you,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.

He noted the large-scale measures being implemented under the President’s instructions to modernize infrastructure, introduce digital solutions, and enhance Kazakhstan’s transit potential. Currently, 13,000 km of highways are under repair, more than 1,300 km of new railway lines are being built, along with modern logistics hubs and airports. By 2029, the volume of transit cargo passing through the country is expected to reach 100 million tons.

Special attention is being paid to the development of multimodal routes, including the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. To implement this project, the Aktau and Kuryk ports are being modernized. Also, under the President’s instruction voiced at the National Kurultai in March of this year, construction has begun on the “Center – West” highway along the Astana – Arkalyk – Torgay – Yrgyz route with an exit to the TITR, which will shorten the distance between the central and western regions of the country by 560 km.

The development of the aviation industry was also highlighted. Almost all airports in the country now operate under the fifth freedom of the air. New airports are being built in the resort zones of Katon-Karagai, Zaysan, and Kenderli to promote tourism. New passenger terminals have been opened in Almaty, Kyzylorda, and Shymkent. Work is underway to restore the Arkalyk airport.

The Prime Minister stressed that overall, Kazakhstan’s transport industry is becoming increasingly high-tech and customer-oriented through the introduction of new digital solutions, including automated control systems and digital dispatching.

For their contribution to the development of the transport sector, Olzhas Bektenov, on behalf of the President, presented state awards and honorary titles to distinguished workers.

“This year, as part of the Year of Working Professions, the honorary title ‘Distinguished Worker of the Transport Industry of Kazakhstan’ has been introduced into the system of state awards for the first time. This is a sincere recognition of your work by the President and the entire Kazakh nation. Today, similar ceremonies to honor leading workers and industry veterans are being held in other regions of the country. Around 200 employees across the republic will receive state awards and honorary titles. This is clear evidence of the support for the specialists of the domestic transport sector, who make efforts for the benefit of the country,” Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.

On behalf of the awardees, Kanat Shaimin and Anuarbek Shulgauov delivered a response. Transport workers expressed gratitude to the President and noted that the high recognition of their work serves as a motivation for further conscientious service to Kazakhstan.

“We are sincerely grateful to the Head of State for recognizing our achievements and showing respect. Tireless work for the good of the country is our civic duty. This award is a great joy and a source of inspiration for further conscientious service. May our work continue to serve the people!” Anuarbek Shulgauovs aid , Director of the branch of JSC “NC ‘KTZ’” – “Kurort-Borovskoye Rail-Welding Enterprise.”
