Prime Minister Askar Mamin received Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar

Prime Minister Askar Mamin received the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Turkey Hulusi Akar.

The Head of Government noted the high level of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey.

“The established friendly relations between the leaders of our states play an important role in expanding bilateral cooperation. Along with constructive dialogue, intensively conducted in a bilateral format, practical interaction within the UN, OIC, OSCE and CICA is successfully developing,” Mamin said.

Turkey is among the top 10 countries that are the main trade partners of Kazakhstan. At the end of 2019, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan exceeded $3 billion. In 8 months of this year, bilateral trade grew by 1.4% compared to the corresponding period last year, amounting to $2.1 billion. Over the years of Kazakhstan's independence, the inflow of direct investments from Turkey to Kazakhstan amounted to more than $3.7 billion.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of military education and the military-industrial complex, including the implementation by Turkish companies of a number of investment projects in the defense industry.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev and the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Beibut Atamkulov.
