Prime Minister Askar Mamin holds meeting on development of construction industry

Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting on the development of the construction industry with the participation of heads of authorized ministries, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and representatives of the construction business of Kazakhstan.

The construction sector is one of the key drivers of growth and diversification of the Kazakhstani economy. Today, Kazakhstan construction companies are quite competitive, it is necessary to build up competence and enter international markets, export not only construction products, but also services,” said Mamin.

So, the growth rate of the construction sector following the results of 10 months of this year amounted to 12.7%. The industry's share in the country's GDP structure is 5.5%. The construction industry is one of the largest in terms of providing employment – 641.4 thousand people work. To date, the production of basic building materials has been established in Kazakhstan.

The meeting examined measures to support domestic manufacturers of building materials and increase the share of Kazakhstani content in the construction industry, improve the legislative framework in the field of architectural, urban planning and construction activities, state control and technical supervision.
