Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov introduced new heads to the teams of the Ministry of National Economy, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and the Ministry of Justice.
“The Ministry of National Economy takes a key place in the structure of the Government. Your ministry faces great tasks in coordinating the new policy of the country's socio-economic development. The Head of State has set tasks to carry out deep structural reforms of the economy aimed at improving the quality of economic development and the well-being of our citizens,” the Prime Minister said, introducing the Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov.
Speaking to the staff of the Ministry of Energy, the Head of Government noted the need to prevent shortages of oil products, gas and electricity, and unreasonable price increases.
“It is necessary to pay special attention to the development of geological exploration, oil and gas chemistry and the nuclear industry, as well as the expansion of oil and gas projects,” said Smailov, introducing Energy Minister Bulat Aqchulaqov.
The Prime Minister introduced the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev.
“Your ministry has been given very big tasks to develop industry, construction, transport and communal infrastructure. For further economic growth of the country and uniform regional development, the National Project ‘Strong Regions - Driver of the Country's Growth’ was recently adopted, within the framework of which priority projects for the construction and reconstruction of highways of republican and local significance were identified. This work must be done in a quality and timely manner. The head of state in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan instructed to increase the growth of the manufacturing industry by 1.5 times by 2025. It is necessary to strengthen the work on import substitution, the implementation of investment projects in competitive sectors of the economy,” Smailov said.
Introducing the Minister of Healthcare Azhar Giniyat, the Head of Government stressed that the country's medical workers are at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic.
“Now there is a new wave of growth in the incidence all over the world. It is necessary to clearly keep the situation under control, monitor and correctly build scenarios for the further development of the incidence. It is necessary to further increase the level of development of domestic healthcare, improve the quality of medical care for the population,” Smailov said.
The Prime Minister introduced the Minister of Information and Social Development Askar Umarov.
“The ministry is entrusted with a great responsibility for the interaction of civil society and the state, strengthening interethnic relations. Now this is more relevant than ever. It is necessary to intensify work on issues of religion and interfaith harmony. It is important that our young people do not get involved in destructive trends,” Smailov said, emphasizing the need for increased attention to youth, family and information policy.
Representing the Minister of Culture and Sports Dauren Abayev, the Head of Government noted the importance of making a qualitative breakthrough in the development of domestic sports, further development of culture and tourism.
The Prime Minister introduced the Minister of Justice Kanat Mussin.
“The Ministry of Justice will continue to carry out effective work on the legal support of the state, increase attention to the quality of legislative activity and its coordination, and ensure the strict implementation of the Government’s Legislative Work Plan this year. Pay special attention to the solution of the issue of comprehensive modernization of the human rights sphere raised by the Head of State,” Smailov said.
