Prime Minister holds meeting with Head of Kazakhstan Engineering Union

Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with Meiram Pshembayev, Chairman of the Board of the Engineering Union of Kazakhstan.

The Head of the Engineering Union reported on the results of 2022 and the prospects for development in the industry in the coming period.

For instance, last year the output of the machine building industry reached 3.1 trillion tenge (IFO 9.4% growth) and its share in the manufacturing sector reached 15%. At that, the export of products of the industry grew by 53 percent to $2.3 billion.

During the meeting the sides discussed key issues of further development of the machine building industry: provision of domestic enterprises with raw materials, support for dual education, attraction of investments, technology transfer, creation of new projects etc.

Alikhan Smailov gave a positive evaluation of production growth rates in the engineering industry and said that all key issues and system forming tasks will be reflected in the new Complex Plan of Development of this industry in line with instructions of the Head of State. Necessary instructions related to them will be given to corresponding central and local state bodies.

In turn, Meiram Pshembayev confirmed the readiness of the Engineering Union in close cooperation with the Government to make its contribution to the development of the Comprehensive Plan.
