Deputy Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhenov reported at the Government session on the work being carried out in the country to repair power plants and heat networks.

He said that in accordance with the schedule at the power plants completed repair of 8 power units, 51 boilers and 38 turbines. At the final stages of repair works are carried out at 2 power units, 4 boilers and 7 turbines.

In the power grids, 20.7 thousand kilometres of power transmission lines, 384 substations and 4054 distribution points and transformer substations were repaired. 542 kilometres of heating networks were repaired.

To prepare for the heating period and improve the reliability of energy supply to consumers during the heating season, the Ministry of Energy has taken a number of measures: adjusted the marginal tariffs for electricity, increased the marginal tariff in the electricity capacity market, and increased the annual limit of return investments.

"The measures taken in 2024 allowed to increase the financing of repair works by 44% compared to the level of last year, up to 327 billion tenge," Yerlan Akkenzhenov said.

Deputy Minister also reported that the fuel depots of energy sources accumulated 5.6 million tonnes of coal and 97 thousand tonnes of fuel oil, which corresponds to the norm.

It was noted that the agency keeps a number of current issues in the regions under control.

In Karaganda region at the central boiler plant in Saran continues commissioning work on two boilers. The boiler house supplies heat to 102 multi-storey residential buildings. At 17 local boiler houses 23 boilers were replaced and additionally installed. Worn out auxiliary equipment (pumps) was replaced, coal accumulation was ensured, and stoker staff was fully staffed. These measures will ensure reliable operation in winter conditions.

In the East Kazakhstan region at Ridder CHPP 3 boilers ( № 2, 3, 6) are in operation. Boiler №1 is in reserve. Repair of 2 more boilers ( № 4, 5) will be completed by the end of November. It is necessary to have 4 boilers in operation during the heating period.

In Turkestan region at the CHPP of Kentau city repair and reconstruction of 6 boilers ( № 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11) was completed. By mid-December boilers №7, 12 should be ready. In the winter period it is necessary to have 5 boilers.

"Stable passage of the heating season is under the control of the Ministry of Energy," Yerlan Akkenzhenov summarised.
