First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar presented state awards on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan to employees of state bodies and representatives of the aviation industry who took part in the evacuation of Kazakhstani citizens from the Middle East.

Today, a ceremony was held to award representatives of the aviation industry who made a significant contribution to the organization and conduct of evacuation operations in February this year due to the closure of airspace in the Middle East region.

Awards were presented to employees of state bodies and organizations, airlines, airports, flight crew members, ground service specialists, and other representatives of the industry.

The state awards on behalf of the Head of State were presented by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.

“I would like to note that the entire operation was organized clearly and smoothly. I am confident that these well-deserved orders, medals, and the President’s gratitude will serve as an additional incentive for you to continue your professional growth, improve existing skills, and acquire new knowledge, which will allow you to continue working fruitfully for the prosperity of our Motherland,” Roman Sklyar said.

It should be recalled that in February this year, due to the closure of airspace in the Middle East region, large-scale work to return Kazakhstani citizens was promptly organized on the instruction of the Head of State. An interagency group consisting of representatives of state bodies and organizations ensured the necessary operations.

Between March 3 and 13, 66 flights were performed, bringing 10,275 citizens of our country back home. Transportation was carried out by Air Astana, SCAT, FlyDubai, and Air Arabia airlines on routes from Dubai, Sharjah, Jeddah, Medina, and Muscat to Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Aktau, and Shymkent.
