At the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the Minister of Agriculture reported on the progress of harvesting and food production in the country. According to him, the harvesting campaign across the republic is ahead of last year’s pace, facilitated by favorable weather conditions and preferential financing provided by the Government. To date, 15.5 million tons of grain have been threshed from 10.2 million hectares.
At the Government session, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed to ensure the timely and high-quality conduct of the harvesting campaign. Work is actively underway across the country, with harvesting in the southern regions already nearing completion. Preliminary results of the harvest are assessed positively.
Akims of Akmola, North-Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Zhambyl regions reported on the results of the harvesting campaign at the Government session.
Transport Minister Marat Karabaev reported on the readiness for the transport of grain of the new harvest at the Government session.
The results of the harvesting campaign were considered at the Government session chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. The total harvesting area of agricultural crops this year totalled 23.3 million hectares, of which 16.7 million hectares are occupied by cereals and leguminous crops.
Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, the Government held a meeting on production and stabilisation of prices for basic foodstuffs. During the discussion, decisions were made to provide sugar factories with working capital and payment of subsidies to beet growers.
