For 11 months of the current year Kazakhstani ports served 25% more ship calls than last year. Such data at the Government session under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov was announced by the Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev. However, the dynamically growing intensity of navigation and shoaling of the Caspian Sea adequately require accelerated creation of navigation safety system.
Issues of water transport development were considered at the regular Government session under the chairmanship of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held negotiations with the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili. The meetings in a narrow and extended format were held in Tbilisi as part of an official visit of the Head of Government of Kazakhstan.
During his government visit to Kazakhstan, German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, together with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, visited the port of Kuryk and became familiar with new transport and logistics projects as part of the development of the Middle Corridor.
