The Minister of Energy Almassadam Satkaliyev reported at the Government session on the work carried out within the framework of The Year of Vocational Professions.
He noted that today the fuel and energy complex of the republic represents 1671 enterprises, where more than 303 thousand workers of various professions work. Until 2030, 99 projects are planned to be implemented in the fuel and energy sector, creating more than 83,000 quality jobs both at the construction and permanent stages.
Implementation of projects within the framework of The Year of Vocational Professions in the oil and gas industry will create about 22,000 jobs for technical professions in the oil and gas industry and related industries. In oil and gas chemistry, 6 major projects will employ more than 21,000 workers, including 18,000 temporary and more than 3,000 permanent. In the power industry, 72 projects, including 32 renewable energy projects, will create more than 41,000 jobs, more than 35,000 temporary and about 6,000 permanent.
"The nuclear power project will provide jobs to about 5,000 people by 2030 and about 10,000 at the peak of construction in 2032. During the operational phase, the project will provide jobs for at least 2,000 people. In addition to new projects, at existing enterprises of the fuel and energy complex, the total need for personnel in the period 2025-2029 additionally amounts to about 16 thousand jobs," Almassadam Satkaliyev added.
It was noted that in Kazakhstan updated 43 professional standards of working professions, defined new specialities and qualifications, intensified the work of Sectoral Councils on professional qualifications. Together with the Ministry of Education built work on training, including 61 institutions of higher education and more than 200 colleges, where the training of professions in the fuel and energy sector.
Personnel training for the energy sector is carried out by 40 higher educational institutions and 215 colleges, where about 19,000 students are trained in 7 specialities in the field of electric power, heat power and renewable energy. Taking into account the construction of new power generation facilities, active growth of consumption and economic development, it is predicted that by 2030 the demand for in-demand professions in the energy sector alone may reach more than 20 thousand. To support the construction of nuclear power plants, specialised specialties will be created on the basis of domestic colleges to train personnel for nuclear power plants.
"Close cooperation with electrical colleges is carried out by subordinate organisations - the National Nuclear Centre and the Institute of Nuclear Physics, representing the base for industrial practice of college students in nuclear specialties ," Almassadam Satkaliyev specified.
