Three major companies to allocate more than 28 billion tenge for construction and purchase of housing for flood victims in Aktobe region

Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BI Group Holding Aydyn Rakhimbayev, First Deputy General Director of Verny Capital JSC Dauren Utemuratov and General Director of TNK Kazchrome JSC (ERG group of companies) Sergey Prokopyev visited Aktobe region. 

According to the Akim of the region Askhat Shakharov, the situation in the region has stabilised, the water level in the rivers is decreasing. In Irgiz, Mugalzhar, Temir, Wil, Kobda, Aytekebiy districts and Aktobe, the local emergency regime is still in place. 

A total of 4,600 dwellings have been affected by the disaster. To date, over 1,000 houses and dachas have been inspected, of which 641 are beyond repair. 

BI Group Holding has already started construction of about 40 houses in Mugaljar and Aytekebiy districts. The company will also buy 34 flats in Aktobe for those left without housing. The work is planned to be completed in mid-August, before the cold weather. The company has allocated KZT2bn for these purposes. 

"In total, we are allocating 5 billion tenge to combat the consequences of floods, including 2 billion tenge to Aktobe region," Aydyn Rakhimbayev said.

The construction of another 150 houses in Kobda district, as well as the purchase of 269 flats and houses in Aktobe and districts of the region will be financed by the private fund of Bolat Utemuratov, founder of Verny Capital. 

"A total of 11.5bn tenge will be allocated to Aktobe region. Last week, the redemption of new houses in Temirbek Zhurgenov's village in Aitekebiy district started. The first five houses have already been handed over to the victims. This week it is planned to hand over 15 more houses," Dauren Utemuratov said. 

In turn, ERG group of companies will allocate about 15 billion tenge to the region. 

"All ERG enterprises provide as much help as possible to eliminate the consequences of floods. Shareholders have allocated about 40 billion tenge. In Aktobe region our companies have been actively co-operating with local executive bodies since the first days of the flood. We allocate equipment, our volunteer movement also actively helps," Sergey Prokopyev said. 

During the meeting with the population, Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev spoke in detail about the situation in the region, compensation for damage and restoration of housing.

Thus, prompt one-time assistance in the amount of 100 MRP was provided to 2,700 families for a total of 877 million tenge. Within the framework of compensation for lost or damaged property 344 families were paid 600 million tenge. The rest of the victims will be fully paid in the near future. 

"The local budget provides 7.8 billion tenge to repair the damage caused by floods. However, in addition to the housing stock, we have to repair 136 kilometres of roads, 15 bridges, 23 social facilities. Large entrepreneurs have responded to the call for help. We will assign three companies to Aktobe region. Together BI Group, Verny Capital and Kazchrome are sending more than 28 billion tenge to the region. These funds will be used for construction and purchase of housing, restoration of infrastructure. The Akimat has identified 26 contractors for the construction of housing, and 63 houses are already under construction," Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said.

Another 1.5 billion tenge for the construction of 54 houses in Irgiz district will be transferred from the fund "Kazakhstan Khalkyna".
