On the instruction of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlybek Nalibayev, a meeting was held on the current situation at automobile checkpoints and the work being carried out to improve the efficiency of organizing traffic flow.
The meeting was attended by the heads of the Ministries of Transport, Finance, and Agriculture, the Border Service of the National Security Committee, and JSC NC “KazAvtoZhol.”
A report by the Border Service of the National Security Committee on the situation on the state border and the measures being taken to ensure the prompt passage of vehicles through the Alimbet, Zhaisan, and Syrym checkpoints was heard. The checkpoints on the Kazakh side operate in a round-the-clock standard mode. It was noted that, taking into account the seasonal increase in transit transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan, control over the timely modernization of automobile checkpoints on the internal contour of the EAEU has been strengthened. This will make it possible to reduce the time required for control procedures.
In addition, in order to create comfortable conditions for cargo carriers, service waiting zones for drivers will be created near priority checkpoints, which will ensure comfortable conditions for drivers during the period of waiting for border control. The corresponding work is planned to be completed in 2027.
Following the results of the meeting, instructions were given to ensure uninterrupted and accelerated passage of vehicles. For these purposes, operational headquarters have been deployed by the Ministry of Transport together with interested state and local executive bodies.
The situation is under the control of the Government.
