Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Kairbek Uskenbayev spoke about ongoing projects in the road sector. This year, construction and installation work is being carried out on more than 11,000 km of public roads, he said. 

"7 thousand km of the national network and 4.6 thousand km of local network. Of these on the national network is building and reconstruction of 4 thousand km, major and minor repairs covered about 3 thousand km," Uskenbayev said. 

On the local road network, 4,600 km of roads are undergoing overhaul. For the development of the road sector in 2022 from the national budget allocated 603 billion tg. The priority is to complete the previously launched projects. 

"According to the instruction of the head of state, we must complete all previously launched projects. In the road sector, such projects total 17, with a total coverage of 4,000 km with a period of implementation up to 2024," the Minister said. 

By the end of the year, it is planned to open traffic on about 1,000 km of roads. The remaining 3 thousand km will be completed in 2023.

We will remind you that today 90% of the roads in the republican network, 80% of local roads are in a normative condition.

Also, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev spoke about progress of repair works on roads of West Kazakhstan and Atyrau region. The head of the Ministry reminded about the criticism of the President of the country regarding the roads of the West Kazakhstan region. 

In May this year Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev instructed the Government and Regional Akimat to immediately take all necessary measures. Those guilty of failing to meet the deadline were punished.

"After criticism of the Head of State on the West Kazakhstan region, work on the national roads "Oral-Zhanibek" and "Onege-Bisen-Saihin" were strengthened. To date, 135 km out of 248 have been repaired. Thus, by the end of this year 54% of the roads will be open for traffic," Uskenbayev said.

He also commented on the progress of work on the Atyrau-Astrakhan highway. According to him, works on about 130 km out of 277 km are completed.

Besides, over 100 km of national highways were repaired within the current road construction season in Akmola region. As a whole, in 2022 the number of objects of road repair in this area has increased by 2,5 times. So, for today a record 28 road objects with a total coverage of 361 km are realized. It is important to note that a certain part refers to transition objects, which will be put into operation next year. For instance, four sections of Ekaterinburg-Almaty National Highway, and sections of Astana-Petropavlovsk National Highway (from Kokshetau to Skopje), Zhaksy-Yessil-Buzuluk National Highway are already repaired. In addition, the problematic 36 km section of Zhezkazgan-Petropavlovsk road from Derzhavinsk to Valikhanov settlement (in the direction of Arkalyk) is also subject to medium repairs.

At the request of residents, more than 20 km of lighting is planned to be installed to improve safety (the access road to the capital via the Yekaterinburg-Almaty road, Talapker, Tonkeris, Astrakhanka, Zerenda, and Sandyktau villages. Sandyktau) and 14 (6 already commissioned) new traffic lights. Contractors will also install 32 km of snow-stopping fences and 15 km of cattle fences (Astana-Pavlodar and Shchuchinsk-Kokshetau roads).

The above-mentioned activities will bring the indicator of national roads in good and satisfactory condition in Akmola region to 88%. Let's remind that the total length of national highways in Akmola region is 2347 km.

In total for 9 months of the current year the National centre of quality of road assets carried out about 10 thousand inspections departures, as a result revealed 5,1 thousand violations in activity of the contract organizations engaged in repair and reconstruction of highways.

In addition, more than 23 thousand samples of road construction materials were taken and tested, of which 8 thousand samples belong to the republican network and 15 thousand to the local network.

5.6 thousand material samples or 24% did not meet the established regulatory requirements. On the Republican network 12% (1 016) non-compliances and on the local network 30% (4 598) non-compliances.
