EAEU 2025 Development Strategy discussed in Bishkek

Consultations on a draft document defining strategic directions for the development of Eurasian economic integration until 2025 were held Sep. 24 in Bishkek.

The Kazakh delegation was led by the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Zhanel Kushukova.

“The development of the internal market of the Eurasian Economic Union, which provides for the removal of barriers in mutual trade, should be a decisive aspect for the development of Eurasian integration and the main criterion for our work. Moreover, the further development of integration should go through the prism of the economic component,” said Zhanel Kushukova.

Recall, the draft Strategic Directions is being developed to implement the Declaration adopted in December last year on the further development of integration processes within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and should be submitted to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council for consideration by the end of this year.

In general, the draft Strategic Directions is aimed at realizing the goals and objectives of the EAEU, including ensuring unconditional fulfillment by the member states of their obligations, to form a high-tech and innovative Eurasian space, digitally transform the economies of the member states, stimulate business activity and ensure positive changes in the lives of citizens .

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify work on the development of the draft Strategic Directions.
