According to the Minister of Healthcare Alexey Tsoy, the situation with morbidity and mortality from COVID-19 in the world continues to be unstable. According to the latest data, more than 204 million cases of CVI have been registered in the world, more than 500 thousand cases are recorded per day. More than 4.3 million people have died.

A high number of cases were registered in America — more than 78 million, Europe — more than 60 million, in Southeast Asia — more than 38 million, in the Eastern Mediterranean countries — more than 12 million. where during the week the incidence increased by 98%, Israel — 75%, Azerbaijan — 69%. In Kazakhstan, the weekly growth was 10%.

“In Kazakhstan, in connection with the detection of the delta strain, an increase in the incidence was registered in July, but since the beginning of August there has been a slowdown in the increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection and the stabilization of the epidemiological situation on COVID-19 in the city of Nur-Sultan,” Tsoy noted.

According to him, since Aug. 1, the prevalence index in the Republic of Kazakhstan has been reduced by 9% from 1.11 to 1.01, in the city of Nur-Sultan — the indicator was below 1, in the city of Almaty the number of R has been reduced by 19% (from 1.19 to 1.0).

The lowest percentage of vaccination coverage with the first dose is observed in the Mangystau region. The regions are provided with sufficient vaccine. Vaccines are being delivered on schedule.

“When assessing the effectiveness of vaccination, it was found that 99.9% of the incidence rate falls on the unvaccinated, while the proportion of cases after vaccination was only 0.1%,” Tsoy noted.

According to him, the proportion of mortality from COVID-19 among the unvaccinated was 97.7%, while the vaccinated accounted for 2.3%, at the same time the vaccinated had severe chronic diseases. These facts, as the minister noted, once again prove the effectiveness of vaccination in the prevention of severe consequences from COVID-19.
