Market of Kazakhstan fully provided with petroleum products of domestic production — Nogayev 

At a government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev reported on the current state of the fuel and energy complex in January-August 2020.

The volume of oil and condensate production in January-August 2020 amounted to 58.3 million tons, the plan for 2020 is 85.2 million tons.

During the specified period, Tengiz produced 18.2 million tons of oil, Kashagan — 10.4 million tons, Karachaganak — 8.2 million tons.

Oil exports amounted to 47.3 million tons, forecast for 2020 is 67.5 million tons.

The volume of gas production for the reporting period amounted to 37.7 billion cubic meters, the plan for 2020 is 56.5 billion cubic meters.

The volume of domestic consumption of commercial gas amounted to 10.2 billion cubic meters, the plan for 2020 — 16.5 billion cubic meters.

The volume of production of liquefied petroleum gas amounted to 2.06 million tons, including 1.4 million tons in 8 months used in the domestic market. The plan for 2020 — 3.2 million tons.

The production of petroleum products in January-August 2020 amounted to 7.4 million tons, including:

  • Gasoline — 2.87 million tons;
  • Diesel fuel — 3 million tons;
  • Aviation fuel — 277 thousand tons;
  • Fuel oil — 1.3 million tons.

The plan for the production of petroleum products for 2020 is 11.6 million tons.

Bitumen production in January-August 2020 reached 675 thousand tons, the plan for 2020 is 983 thousand tons.

“Today the domestic market is fully provided with petroleum products of our own production,” Nogayev noted.

The volume of production of petrochemical products reached 262 thousand tons, the plan for 2020 is 400 thousand tons.

During the reporting period, 69.5 billion kWh of electricity was produced, the plan for 2020 is 105.2 billion kWh.

At the same time, Nogayev emphasized that the production of electricity is directly related to the volume of energy consumption.

During the reporting period, no major emergencies were registered.

The volume of uranium production amounted to 13.5 thousand tons, the plan for 2020 is 19.3 thousand tons.

“Achievement of the main indicators is under constant control of the Ministry of Energy,” Nogayev said in conclusion.
