Bakytzhan Sagintayev holds a meeting on Digital Economy issues

Today in Ukimet Uyi, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on the draft State Program "Digital Kazakhstan".

During the meeting issues of digitalization of the basic branches of the economy, development of the IT industry were discussed, and the project of creation of the Astana Hub Technopark in Astana was considered.

The draft state program "Digital Kazakhstan" is aimed at improving the quality of life of the population through the progressive development of the digital system and the competitiveness of Kazakhstan's economy.

As a result of the project, it is expected that the share of the ICT sector in Kazakhstan's GDP will reach 4.85% by 2020; labor productivity in the ICT sphere will increase by 31%; the digital literacy of the population will be 80%; the share of internet users will increase to 78%; the share of electronic public services rendered in relation to the total number of services received in paper and electronic forms will increase to 80%.
