The first investment forum of the Saryarka district was organized in the capital of Kazakhstan within the framework of the 20th anniversary of Astana by the akimat of the Saryarka district with the assistance of the investment center Astana Invest. The event was attended by investment specialists of the Ministry for Investments and Development, sectoral departments of Astana, national companies and development institutions. 

The forum provided an opportunity for potential investors to get acquainted with the investment proposals of the Saryrka district, as well as with the priority areas of investing in the city. A database on more than 100 land plots and unfinished facilities was presented, as well as information on other projects requiring investments. On the platform of the forum, an interactive dialogue took place in three thematic areas: "renovation and construction", "smart city with elements of digitalization"; "SMEs and a new economy: creative capital and territorial development of the district". 

In general, the issues of improving the business climate, creating an intelligent environment and management for improving the comfort and safety of the residents of the district, improving energy efficiency in housing and communal services, renovating the housing stock, developing PPPs, sports cluster, improving the quality of creative services, creating space for communications with various directions of creativity and art, etc. 

Among more than 300 participants of the forum are investors from France, Germany, Turkey, Canada, China, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, as well as domestic entrepreneurs, investment companies. 

Following the results of the event, 11 documents were signed for the amount of about 30 billion tenge (~ $100 million), within the framework of which agreements on cooperation in various sectors were reached.

Within the framework of the implementation of the Five Social Initiatives of the President, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Saryarka District Administration and the Astana Medical University for the construction of a student dormitory. 

As part of the direction to create smart management to improve the comfort and safety of residents of the area:

• The installation of road weather stations - a memorandum of cooperation between the Office of the Akim of the Saryarka District and Marcel Boschung AG (Germany); 
• On cooperation in the sphere of production of snow melting equipment and the project on the prevention of snow melting - a memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation between the Office of the akim of the Saryarka district, Trecan Combustion (Canada) and LLP ANTMachinery; 
• On the construction of a pedestrian boulevard - a memorandum on mutual understanding and exchange between the Office of the Akim of the Saryarka district, NC SEC Astana and LLP City Box; 
• On the construction of football fields - a memorandum on cooperation between the Office of the Akim of the Saryarka district and the company DUOL (Slovenia). 

Within the framework of innovative development: 

• The 5G pilot project is a memorandum on cooperation between the Saryarka District Akim's Office, the Autonomous Cluster Fund Park of Innovative Technologies and the National Research Institute of Technology and Communications (RF); 
• On the introduction of innovative technologies in the management of the complex of melioration of green plantations - a memorandum on cooperation between the Office of the Akim of Saryarka District and Smart Irrigation LLP. 

Also, in order to develop the retail sphere, a memorandum was signed between the Office of Akim of Saryarka District, NC SEC Astana and the company Keruen Global LLP for the construction of Gastronomic Market. 

For reference: The district Saryarka was established on 06.05.1998 by the decree of the Head of State. Achievements of the district for 20 years:

• The population of the district increased 2.5 times (1999 — 157 162 people, 2018 — 386 471 people); 
• The volume of tax revenues to the local budget grew 59 times.
• Saryarka district provides 25% of tax revenues to the local budget of Astana; 
• Investments in fixed assets increased 5 times (2000 — 35 billion tenge, 2017 — 175 billion tenge); 
• About 4 million m2 of residential buildings were put into operation. 12 secondary schools, 9 kindergartens, 3 modern polyclinics were built. In 2017, 143 thousand square meters of housing or 1166 apartments, 62 objects of social and cultural purpose with an area of ​​118 thousand m2 were put into operation.
• On the territory of the district, the total area and social infrastructure: 32 garden squares have been built, 281 courtyards have been arranged, 2 parks are being built, over 100 yards will be landscaped.
