He noted that, in accordance with the Head of State’s instruction, systematic work continues to expand the coverage of children and adolescents with physical culture and sports activities.

Currently, 1.8 million children and adolescents in Kazakhstan engage in sports on a regular basis. This constitutes 34.6% of their total number. According to the Concept for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports, the task has been set to increase this indicator to 45% by 2029.

There are 922 physical training clubs operating in the country, covering more than 305 thousand children and adolescents. About 400 thousand children engage in sports in 526 children and youth sports schools. 6,441 pupils study in 16 regional boarding schools.

In addition, 3 specialized boarding school-colleges of Olympic reserve and the Republican Sports College operate at the republican level. Training sessions in sports schools continue during the summer period as well.

“To ensure active recreation for children during the holidays, health and sports camps will be organized on the basis of the ‘Parus’ recreation area in Akmola Region, ‘Sarybel’ in East Kazakhstan Region, and Alakol in Abay Region. In his Address, the Head of State noted the importance of strengthening family sports traditions. In fulfillment of this instruction, sports events for parents and children will be organized in the country. One of such events will be the summer republican rock climbing festival ‘Burabai-2026’. This event will become an important platform uniting families from all regions of the country,” Yerbol Myrzabosynov added.

It was noted that at least 10 republican championships and tournaments in 6 sports among participants aged 9 to 15 will be held during the summer season.

During the holidays, international tournaments in togyzkumalak “Zhas Umit”, championships of Kazakhstan in zhamby atu, audaryspak, asyk atu, Kazakh wrestling, and traditional archery will be held in national sports.

One of the significant international projects will be the “Games of the Future”, which will be held in Astana from July 29 to August 9, 2026. About one thousand student volunteers will take part in the event. The main audience will be children and adolescents.

More than 7 thousand sports sections operate under the state sports order, which are attended free of charge by over 220 thousand children. The program will continue during the summer holidays.

Also, on the instruction of the Head of State, the construction of football fields for children in regional, district centers, and rural settlements continues. According to the approved plan, 685 projects are being implemented at the expense of local budgets and private investments.

This will expand opportunities for children to engage in regular sports activities during the summer holidays.

The opening of new inclusive centers in all regions of the country is planned over the next three years. These measures will increase the accessibility of sports for children with special needs and create conditions for their active summer recreation.
