Alikhan Smailov holds bilateral meeting with Caspian Pipeline Consortium CEO

Actual issues of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium activity were discussed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban.

It was noted that today uninterrupted oil transshipment is provided at the CPC Marine Terminal, shipment to tankers is carried out in regular mode.

The parties also discussed the completion of the debottlenecking program aimed at increasing the throughput capacity of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline up to 82 million tons of hydrocarbons per year. Nikolay Gorban informed Alikhan Smailov that the CPC has already achieved mechanical readiness to pump increased volumes of oil from Kazakhstan.

In particular, in July the construction of one of the largest and most important facilities was completed a new system for measuring the quantity and quality of oil at the CPC Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk. This system will be able to ensure the shipment of raw materials simultaneously from three remote berths, which, in turn, will allow to increase the transportation of crude oil after forced downtime during spring and fall storms.

During the meeting, the issues of ensuring uninterrupted power supply to CPC facilities in the Atyrau region, taxation and payment of dividends to shareholders were also discussed. Thus, the General Director informed the Head of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan that in July 2023 the Consortium for the first time paid dividends separately to the shareholders of CPC-K JSC in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
