The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with the Government Delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation headed by Prime Minister Andrey Nazarov in Astana.

During the meeting they discussed topical issues of cooperation in such spheres as trade, industrial cooperation, agriculture, logistics, tourism and culture. 

Alikhan Smailov noted that at the end of 2022 the trade turnover between the regions of Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan amounted to about $382 million with a certain growth. At the same time, there is a potential for further expansion of trade and increase in the range of goods supplied.

The Head of Government also emphasized that the number of joint projects in the field of industrial cooperation continues to grow. Thus, at present the localization of production of Ural Spring Plant LLC in Kostanay region is underway. Cooperation is being established with Bashkir Soda Company JSC, which is working on two major projects worth about $716 million.

"The Government of Kazakhstan is ready to provide necessary support to Bashkir businessmen in realization of investment projects," Alikhan Smailov said. 

In addition, the Prime Minister outlined the importance of holding the Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in Kostanai and the INNOPROM Kazakhstan exhibition in Astana in the fall of this year, inviting Bashkortostan's entrepreneurs to take an active part in them. 

For his part, Andrey Nazarov emphasized that the regions of Kazakhstan and Bashkortostan are linked by many years of close cooperation in various spheres. At the same time there is a significant potential for its expansion. 

"We see great opportunities in the Kazakhstani direction, both for Bashkortostan and our country as a whole, and for Kazakhstan. Therefore, we would like to strengthen our relationship, add new directions and points of development," Andrey Nazarov said.
