Alikhan Smailov tells about special social payment to miners when they reach 55 years old

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov told about new measures to support miners. The head of the Government announced his comments at a briefing after the plenary session of the Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

First of all, Alikhan Smailov touched upon the topic of increasing salaries of labor collectives of private enterprises working in various sectors of the economy.

"We are working with our large companies in terms of raising salaries. According to our information, salaries are now gradually increased by 10-50% on average. About 8 thousand enterprises are carrying out this work. This process will continue in the future," Prime Minister said.

Along with this, on behalf of the Head of State legislative amendments have been developed to introduce special social payments to workers employed in harmful working conditions.

"They provide an opportunity for people at the age of 55 to get out of these harmful working conditions with the receipt of appropriate social benefits. Subject to payment of mandatory occupational pension contributions for at least 7 years. These payments will be made from four sources: from the republican budget, the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund, insurance companies and the employer itself. After reaching the retirement age, they will receive a general pension," Alikhan Smailov said.

According to him, thus, after the age of 55 miners will receive special social payments and if they wish, they will be able to get another job not related to harmful working conditions.

"The bill is in the Majilis. We hope that the deputies will support us and the bill will be adopted in the near future," the Prime Minister concluded.
