Development of Domestic Air Routes and Fleet Renewal: Nurlibek Naliyev Holds Meeting on Air Astana’s Operations

First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlibek Naliyev chaired a meeting where he heard a report from the management of Air Astana on the company’s current operations and plans for key development areas.

Special attention was paid to the development of the international and domestic route network, fleet renewal, flight safety assurance, and improving passenger service quality. Meeting participants also discussed measures to strengthen coordination with state bodies and partners for the implementation of the airline’s strategic plans.

Air Astana Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Janlyel reported that in 2025 the company carried 9.7 million passengers. Currently, the airline’s fleet consists of 62 aircraft, and it is planned to expand it to 86 units by 2030. In addition, last year the carrier opened 25 new routes, and plans to launch another 16 destinations this year.

Following the meeting, the company’s management was instructed to continue work on key areas, with particular attention to the development of the domestic route network.
