In Shymkent, the heads of government of EAEU member states and observer countries visited the exhibition of digital projects of the Digital Qazaqstan 2026 forum, held on the sidelines of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
The forum exhibition brought together projects of startups and IT companies, solutions in robotics and AI drones, GameDev areas, as well as AI Talent Hub platforms featuring educational, expert and applied formats of interaction. This approach reflects Kazakhstan’s course toward developing a unified digital ecosystem.
Heads of delegations familiarized themselves with developments in the field of artificial intelligence for public administration, industry and urban infrastructure.
Deputy Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dmitry Mun presented infrastructure initiatives, including the multi-agent platform AlemGPT covering 35 public services, as well as the National AI Platform project.
In the field of digital infrastructure, projects for the development of data centers and the energy sector were presented. Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Kazakhtelecom Bagdat Musin presented a visualization of the draft Data Center Valley project, providing for the phased development of a technological cluster, the launch of AI data centers with a capacity of 50 MW each and the expansion of energy infrastructure.
Digital solutions for the urban environment were also presented separately. In particular, Deputy Akim of the city of Shymkent Arman Sabitov presented the intelligent transport system ITS, the AIQYN digital school safety system and a unified drone infrastructure for rapid response in public safety, environmental protection and urban management.
Within the human capital and fintech development block, solutions by Freedom Holding Corp. were presented. Chief Executive Officer Timur Turlov presented initiatives for the introduction of artificial intelligence into education and business processes, including the launch of a joint project with OpenAI to provide teachers in Kazakhstan with access to ChatGPT Edu, and also demonstrated Freedom’s AI solutions: personal voice assistants for business and everyday services, enabling the automation of operations and improving convenience for SuperApp users.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alageum Electric Group Yerkebulan Ilyasov demonstrated a set of Smart Grid solutions aimed at forming next-generation intelligent power grids. The presented architecture integrates generation facilities, transmission and distribution lines, energy storage systems, intelligent devices and end consumers into a unified digital environment. A transformer monitoring system and AI-based solutions for solar generation forecasting were also presented. The implementation of a digital substation and related solutions makes it possible to reduce technical losses by up to 30%, commercial losses by 5–10%, reduce peak load by 10–15% and achieve AI model forecasting accuracy of up to 95%.
Attention was also paid to integration processes. Member of the Board for Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission Varos Simonyan presented the launch of cross-border electronic document management with an electronic digital signature (EDS) verification service in B2B format, enabling real-time authentication of documents and reducing administrative costs in interstate interaction.
At the startup alley, AI Startify Incubator, Auezov AI First, Ushqyn AI Operator, AIJan, CortexAI and AI Coventry University Kazakhstan were also presented, reflecting the country’s course toward building its own AI solutions ecosystem, from university developments to applied services for government, business, education and healthcare.
