Heating Season Starts as Scheduled: Prime Minister Instructs Akims to Resume Regional Task Force Operations

At the Government session, the readiness of regions for the heating season was reviewed off-agenda. As of today, heat supply has been launched in 11 regions.

First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlybek Nalibayev reported on the readiness of regions for the heating season, the availability of fuel reserves at heat sources, and the completion of repair work on heat and power grids.

In the cities of Almaty and Shymkent, as well as in the Ulytau, Zhetysu, Almaty, Turkistan, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, and Mangystau regions, connection will be carried out by the end of October in accordance with schedules and weather conditions.

The Prime Minister noted that the Government had previously set the task of ensuring full readiness of heat sources and networks by October 1. All regions fulfilled the instruction within the deadline, with the exception of the Abai region. In this regard, for the lack of proper coordination and untimely preparation of the heating networks in the city of Semey, the Head of Government instructed to bring the supervising Deputy Akim of the Abai region to disciplinary liability.

"The heating season has started as scheduled. In the southern and western regions, heat will be connected according to the schedule and weather conditions.

I instruct the Akims of the regions to resume the operation of regional task forces for navigating the heating season, as well as to regularly inspect the operation of energy sources and networks. It is necessary to comply with all planned parameters, maintain standard fuel reserves, and ensure the readiness of backup equipment. It is also essential to keep under constant control the availability of coal for the population at stable prices," Olzhas Bektenov emphasized.
